The Engineering Development Group (EDG) is a key leadership development program at MathWorks, offering successful candidates from various technical backgrounds opportunities to develop and demonstrate their skills for a rewarding career.

Specifically, team members in the EDG for Technical Sales will develop additional skills (leadership and technical), working on projects with MathWorks Sales teams. Opportunities include aligning MathWorks solutions with customer needs, increasing the adoption of MathWorks tools, maximizing customer value, and delivering revenue growth. EDG team members receive mentoring and coaching supporting a long-term career pathway into a commercial role within MathWorks Sales organization.

Please note: This role provides a path to EMEA Inside Sales. It is not an Application/Sales Engineer role.

Relocation: The position begins with training in Cambridge, UK, with relocation required to join the Inside Sales team based in Galway, Ireland (supporting EMEA).

Responsibilities

As a member of the EDG for Technical Sales, you will engage with customers from leading engineering companies. You will gain insights into their business and deepen your understanding of MathWorks products. Specifically, you will:

  • Connect with customers on complex technical issues in MATLAB, Simulink, and other MathWorks products to enhance your technical skills and leverage our platforms effectively.
  • Collaborate with Sales and technical colleagues to identify and solve customer technical and business challenges.
  • Convert qualified leads into opportunities and prospects into satisfied customers.
  • Develop leadership skills by taking initiative, leading process improvements, and mentoring others.
  • Benefit from extensive training, mentorship, and knowledge-sharing forums.
  • Qualifications
    • A bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Engineering.
    Additional Qualifications
    • Strong academic record
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and time management
    • Highly responsive and collaborative
    • Interest in commercial activities such as sales and account management
    • Programming skills in MATLAB
    • Prior sales or commercial experience is a plus
