Job Description :

PIPECARE US is currently looking for Technical Sales Engineer to join our team in Houston, Texas.

Technical Sales Engineer is responsible for providing innovative solutions to meet and exceed customer expectations, while having a strong customer focus and outstanding sales skills.

Key Responsibilities & Authorities:

  • Document all associated inquiries received from clients
  • Ensure that all new inquiries are assigned to proper project number
  • Obtain approval to bid or decline
  • Prepare cost estimate and propose a price for the project
  • Prepare technical proposals and submit to territory director
  • Prepare bid bond requirements
  • Coordinate with other departments within PIPECARE during the bidding or prequalification stage
  • Coordinate with logistics to ensure all the logistics requirements and terms and conditions associated with mobilization and demobilization are properly identified and understood
  • Assist the sales team in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities
  • Learn and understand the technical aspects of our ILI products and services
  • Coordinate with Finance department to prepare and develop the cost estimate for the project
  • Request Operations to conduct the site survey if appropriate
  • Update customer information and Corporate EMS: create enquiries timely; follow the sales flow chart while bidding for a job; transfer the project timely after PIPECARE confirms the order to the client; updating the forecast by the end of each month; update the status of project regularly
  • Prepare cost estimate report
  • Provide all relevant or requested reports to VP and/or country manager and sales manager
  • Submit the daily, weekly and monthly reports to territory VP and sales manager
  • Ensure all the related communications associated with the new inquiries are communicated to the territory Vice President/country manager
  • Ensure that all the tender documents are properly read and understood for the client requirements or the scope of service
  • Ensure all the possible risks associated with the scope of work are covered and submitted to the technical sales manager for their review
  • Ensure all the inquiries are responded to on a timely basis
  • Ensure that complete bids are submitted on time or before the target due date
  • Ensure the project transfers are carried out within 2 days of the receipt of confirmation from clients
  • Achieve the agreed sales targets
  • Maintain good relationships with customers
  • Execute other tasks as per request of Sales and Marketing Director and other Executive Team members.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to travel frequently to client sites and industry events
  • Occasionally required to lift and carry materials up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods
  • Must be able to work in various environmental conditions, including outdoor settings and industrial sites

Skills/Experience required:

  • BS degree in Engineering or equivalent technical experience/exposure with sound commercial skills
  • Minimum of 3 years technical sales experience with a progressive and successful career to-date
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in commercial and technical tender preparations
  • Strong interest in technical sales and the oil and gas industry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Further qualifications or extended course experience in commercial activities
  • Language skills, English, Spanish and any other languages may be advantageous
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Good computer skills
  • Solid technical knowledge of ILI products and applicable industry standards
  • Experience within the Oil and Gas sector (preferably) or service project-based companies

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Mobility: Must be able to walk and climb to perform duties, including maneuvering within a refinery or plant environment and accessing elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells
  • Communication: Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing, or other communication capabilities, to communicate effectively
  • Focus and Multitasking: Ability to maintain focus and multitask effectively
  • Safety Equipment: Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection, if/where needed in manufacturing environments.
  • Personal Mobility and Reflexes: Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodations, to perform office duties and travel to off-site locations when necessary
