About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated Technical Project Manager to lead a team of System Administrators and Engineers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality IT infrastructure and system administration services. This role emphasizes optimizing IT operations for efficiency, security, and continuous improvement, aligning with business objectives and industry best practices. The successful candidate will serve as the primary liaison between IT teams and government leadership.

Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Act as the main point of contact between IT and government leadership.
    • Identify and implement improvements to system administration and IT infrastructure operations.
    • Develop and present performance reports on system uptime, security compliance, infrastructure health, and SLAs.
    • Support the Program Manager in strategic IT initiative planning and execution.
  • IT Infrastructure & System Administration Management:
    • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, networks, and virtualization platforms.
    • Manage IT systems to ensure high availability, performance, and security compliance.
    • Implement IT systems management frameworks to drive operational excellence.
    • Lead infrastructure modernization initiatives, including automation and cloud migration strategies.
  • Service Level Agreement (SLA) Management & Reporting:
    • Define, implement, and monitor SLAs to meet business requirements for IT service delivery.
    • Generate and analyze SLA performance reports, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
    • Ensure timely resolution of incidents and service requests within SLAs.
  • Team Leadership & Development:
    • Lead and mentor a team of System Administrators and Engineers.
    • Provide training, coaching, and performance evaluations.
    • Allocate resources effectively to balance workloads.
  • Cybersecurity & Compliance Management:
    • Implement security controls and risk mitigation strategies in collaboration with cybersecurity teams.
    • Ensure compliance with Department of State (DOS) security policies and industry best practices.
    • Develop IT policies and procedures covering security, disaster recovery, and service delivery.
  • Project Management & Execution:
    • Lead IT infrastructure-related projects, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
    • Utilize Agile/Scrum methodologies for project execution and stakeholder collaboration.
    • Manage vendor relationships and procurement processes.
    • Support the Program Manager in tracking project milestones and deliverables.
  • Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
    • PMP certification preferred.
    • ITIL certification required.
    • Minimum 8 years of experience in enterprise IT infrastructure, including at least 3 years as a Technical Project Manager.
    • Strong experience with ITIL practices, including incident, problem, and change management.
    • Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Remedy) and reporting tools.
    • Experience in SLA management and performance reporting.
    • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility required.
    Additional Considerations:
    • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional on-call support.
    • Willingness to pursue additional training and certifications as needed.
