Role Overview
Tesla's Manufacturing Test Engineering group is seeking a highly motivated hands-on Technical Program Manager to drive development of custom manufacturing equipment with mechanical, electrical, controls, and software engineers. This role involves developing manufacturing testing equipment for all Tesla products, interacting with product designers, firmware engineers, manufacturing engineers, supply chain, and production teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, maintain, and communicate schedules for developing and deploying manufacturing equipment to meet production targets.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to complete projects within scope, budget, and timeline.
- Track project progress, report statuses, identify blockers, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Develop solutions for program challenges and manage resource allocation.
- Document project details and ensure data accuracy across systems like Confluence, JIRA, SharePoint, Polarion, and SolidWorks PDM.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience demonstrating hands-on ability.
- At least 3 years of experience in manufacturing environments managing change.
- Proven experience in scheduling and project management.
- Excellent communication skills, highly organized, with attention to detail.
- Understanding of design cycles and problem solving processes.
- Experience with electrical test instruments is a plus.
