Job Description – Technical Product Owner

Location: Hybrid 3 days on-site– Austin TX OR Morris Plains, NJ

Type: 6- month contract, potential to extend

About the Role

As a Senior Product Owner within the Pharmacy area, you'll lead the charge in turning complex business needs into actionable, technical outcomes. This role plays a key part in shaping the direction of pharmacy operations by translating strategic initiatives into clear, prioritized product requirements. You will partner with cross-functional teams—including engineering, architecture, and operations—to deliver high-impact solutions that drive measurable business value. Join a collaborative, forward-thinking team where your expertise will directly influence how pharmacy solutions improve care, cost, and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate complex business needs into functional and technical requirements.
  • Own and manage a defined product or capability, including roadmap, cost, and technical health.
  • Write detailed, definition-of-ready user stories, incorporating input from architects and engineers.
  • Lead backlog grooming, sprint planning, and story refinement sessions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align product vision, priorities, and outcomes.
  • Identify and resolve dependencies across teams, supporting delivery of MVPs and epics.
  • Monitor and communicate KPIs and product health metrics, advocating for continuous improvement and tech debt reduction.
  • Utilize agility tools like Jira to manage workflows and optimize team performance.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 5–8 years of experience in product management, business analysis, or technology development.
  • Strong background in bank-end development preferred.
  • Strong background in pharmacy finance, billing, or collections preferred.
  • Proven success working in agile environments and leading scrum ceremonies.
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Jira, and business process modeling tools.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-stakes setting.
