Technical Field Service Representative III

The Generator Field Service Technician is responsible for providing on-site troubleshooting, repair, warranty/campaign service, preventative maintenance, and equipment modifications of Generac industrial products. This position requires 100% travel; a fleet vehicle is provided. No overnight travel is anticipated. Overtime is not guaranteed but may be required during mass storms and outages for after-hours calls beyond the regular on-call schedule.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Working knowledge of mechanical design, AC and DC circuitry, power generation, wiring schematics, connection diagrams, and control systems.
  • Understanding components and operation of electrical distribution and transfer switch systems.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills, ability to make independent decisions, and work with minimal supervision, often in adverse outdoor weather conditions.
  • Experience in Electronics and Electromechanical Technology.
  • Knowledge of power generation equipment, including light towers.
  • Knowledge of spark-ignited and compression-ignited internal combustion engines.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma.
  • 4-6 years of experience servicing and troubleshooting Emergency Power Supply Systems (EPSS), with mastery of paralleling switchgear, generator repair/maintenance, and load banking setup and reporting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associates Degree in Marine, Agriculture, Construction, Automotive technical programs, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 8 years of experience servicing and troubleshooting EPSS.
Compensation Range
  • Min: $47.68/hour
  • Max: $52.05/hour

Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, certifications, and location. The role includes a comprehensive benefits package, potential for overtime, and 401(k) retirement plan.

This role involves physical activities such as lifting, handling small objects, walking, climbing, and working in various environmental conditions. Daily travel is monitored via GPS. Strict adherence to PPE and safety protocols is required.
