Technical Documentation Specialist - Coastal Source : Job Details

We are looking for a Technical Documentation Specialist (TDS) who will support Coastal Source and its dealers by creating and maintaining best-in-class support, training, and marketing materials. This is a cross-functional support role that reports to the VP of Product Management.

NOTE: Coastal Source is committed to fostering in-person collaboration, which is vital to our mission of operating as one. To support this commitment, employees are expected to either reside within a 30-mile radius of Gainesville, FL or report in-person daily to our Marathon, FL location. The salary offered will take into consideration the location, technical, and industry experience of the selected candidate.

You are someone who loves turning tricky, technical information into clear, easy-to-follow content. With an associate's degree or higher in communications, marketing, or a related field, you bring experience crafting everything from product manuals to training guides—blending words, visuals, and digital media with ease. You're a confident communicator, a meticulous editor, and a dependable teammate who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative, family-style environment. Most importantly, you're brimming with fresh ideas to elevate processes and push creative boundaries.

Key Qualifications

• Minimum of an associate's degree in communications, marketing, or a relevant field of study
• 5+ years of progressive experience in developing technical copy content for various applications and uses - including but not limited to product manuals and instructions, training materials - using written and verbal descriptions, diagrams, etc.
• 2+ years' experience working in multiple mediums, including written, verbal, and digital
• Excitement to develop new ideas for improving CS and its processes
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated Technical Writing skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Solid work ethic and dependable
• Willing to contribute to a family-like team in a fast-paced environment
• Able to independently multitask, organize, and prioritize tasks
• Adept at acquiring skills with an eagerness to learn and take on new challenges
• Computer and smartphone experience
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
• Microsoft Office

What You'll Do

• Write and/or edit copy for the website, manuals, marketing materials, and other technical documentation
• Ensure all copy is written in the correct tone and voice for the audience
• Work with the marketing department to create and maintain product manuals, installation guides, etc.
• Work with the marketing department to create and maintain product specification sheets
• Assist in the creation and maintenance of online learning modules with Articulate Storyline
• Assist in the maintenance of Coastal Source University (CSU) with TalentLMS
• Organize, film, and edit simple product videos & upload them to Vimeo/YouTube/website/CSU
• Other duties as assigned
