Technical Designer - Stateless : Job Details

Based in the Tribeca neighborhood of NYC, Stateless Fashion Design & Consulting is a team of fashion design, branding, and production management experts. Stateless is outsourced by apparel brands around the world and across categories, for the design, development, and production of their apparel lines.

Position Summary:

• Manage technical design process across various product categories (mens, womens, childrenswear, contemporary, sportswear, active, sweaters, swim) for products manufactured in the US and overseas
• Consult with Client/Brand on sample size, fit, garment construction, finishing details, etc. to ensure fit is established from initial specs
• Build initial garment specifications
• Follow up with factories on measurement specs and fit comments to ensure the tech pack is understood
• Run fittings in person with cross functional teams: Stateless Team, the Client/Brand Team) and fit model
• Manage fit scheduling and sample prep
• Prepare detailed fit comments throughout development process and graded specs for production
• Email follow up to consult with Client/Brand throughout the development and production process for anything related to technical design

- Work closely with product developers and designers to ensure high standard of work is

followed through with the factories

Environment

• Fast paced, multi-directional environment. Individual must be highly adaptable and extremely organized

Job Requirements:

• Must be able to be in-person in NYC office for fittings
• Advanced knowledge of Pattern Making and Garment Construction
• Strong knowledge of grading, costing, manufacturing, materials and machinery
• Knowledge of Accumark, Gerber or similar
• Work within various product categories: knit, woven, sweaters, active, athleisure etc.
• Work within calendar to ensure deadlines are maintained
• Ability to articulate the fit issues and present solutions during the fit session to cross functional teams.
• Remote work and in person fittings
• Capable to manage a multitude of diverse products, deadlines, and priorities concurrently in a fast-paced, demanding work environment.
• Highly detail oriented and organized

Job Title:

Freelance (full-time or part-time)

Experience:

• 5-7+ years experience in technical design across categories (required)
• Ability to use Adobe Illustrator to update sketches (required)
• Bachelor's or relevant certificate
• Ability to work independently and to meet multiple deadlines
• Ability to write professionally
• Corporate fashion experience (preferred)
• Working knowledge of CLO, Browzwear, Style 3D Design (highly preferred)
