Position Summary:

The Technical Writer (IT Governance) will play a dual role within the IT Governance team, with a primary focus on creating and standardizing high-quality internal user documentation for IT systems, processes, and releases. This role ensures consistency, clarity, and accessibility of IT-related communications across the business while maintaining readiness to support broader IT governance functions as needed.

This position is ideal for a professional who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of distilling complex technical information into clear, user-friendly content—while also understanding the broader governance frameworks that guide enterprise IT.

Responsibilities:
  • Documentation and Writing User Enablement (70%):
    • Develop, edit, and maintain internal user guides, IT process documentation, and release notes for enterprise applications and services.
    • Leverage and enforce standardized templates, branding, and tone guidelines for IT-facing and business-facing documentation.
    • Collaborate with SMEs across IT and business units to gather information and ensure accuracy and clarity of materials.
    • Maintain and organize IT documentation in internal platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Confluence, Teams, etc.).
    • Support user enablement initiatives through the creation of FAQs, walkthroughs, and onboarding materials.
  • IT Governance Support (30%):
    • Assist with the development and maintenance of IT policies, procedures, and controls aligned to governance frameworks (e.g., NIST, NYDFS).
    • Support risk assessments, audit preparations, and compliance tracking as needed.
    • Collaborate on broader IT governance tasks, including reporting, stakeholder coordination, and process alignment.
    • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for governance and documentation processes.
    • Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, regulations and best practices related to IT governance and proactively incorporate them into business processes.
    • Assist in the development of long-term IT roadmaps, focusing on innovation and technology-driven growth.
    • Ensure IT projects align with the business strategy and objectives.
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, Computer Science or Business Administration preferred.
    • 2+ years of experience in IT documentation, technical writing, knowledge management, or a similar role.
    • Familiarity with IT governance frameworks (e.g., NIST) and the role of governance in enterprise IT.
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools (Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams).
    • Experience with content/document management tools (e.g., Confluence).
    • Exceptional writing, editing, and organizational skills with a strong eye for detail.
    • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
    Skills:
    • General understanding of technology tools and processes.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
    • Ability to assess complex situations and make informed decisions.
    • Comfortable balancing creative content work with structured governance duties.
    • Experience in managing projects and driving initiatives from inception to completion.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
    Certifications, Licenses, and/or Specialized Training
    • Copywriting courses (e.g., AWAI, Copyblogger Academy)
    Location
    • This role will be based in Bayview's Coral Gables, FL office.
    • This role will be hybrid with the following schedule: 2 wfh and 3 on-site days (Tues - Thurs).
