Linux Engineer
Needed onsite in the Raleigh/RTP area for a 12-month contract role. Responsibilities include:
Keeping users informed about incident status at agreed intervals.Owning incidents and service requests throughout their lifecycle.Recording, classifying, and logging incident details with proper categorization and prioritization.Investigating and diagnosing incidents to restore service quickly.Verifying resolution with end-users and ensuring incidents are resolved within SLAs/OLAs.Updating cases in CSOne with accurate notes for customer interactions and tasks.Driving customer satisfaction through problem resolution ownership.Managing customer expectations and communication.Participating in periodic client-customer meetings.Providing status updates and managing service levels.Maintaining intermediate product knowledge and understanding the product's role in solutions.Troubleshooting issues, escalating to technical leads, or reassigning cases outside the team's jurisdiction.Collaborating with Level 3 engineers and other teams as needed.Creating and refining internal content and documenting troubleshooting steps.Creating knowledge articles and applying first-call resolution strategies.Learning new tools and processes quickly.Achieving and working towards certifications.Onboarding web portals, configuring access, and supporting software/hardware upgrades.Supporting application issues and incident resolution per SLAs/OLAs.Skills Required:
- Networking: CCNA Certification or equivalent knowledge
- Scripting & Programming: Python, Perl, Shell scripting
- Databases: MySQL
