Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Technical Buyer to manage the sourcing, negotiation, and purchasing of materials, components, and technical services. The ideal candidate will work cross-functionally with engineering, production, and quality teams to support operational efficiency and supplier performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement of Technical Goods and Services: Source and purchase mechanical, electrical, or electronic components in accordance with engineering specifications and production requirements.
- Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance. Develop and maintain strong, reliable supplier relationships.
- Cost Control and Negotiation Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms to achieve cost savings without compromising quality or timelines.
- Technical Collaboration: Coordinate closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to define technical requirements, resolve specification issues, and ensure supplier compliance.
- Order and Inventory Management: Issue purchase orders, track order progress, manage delivery timelines, and ensure inventory levels support production needs.
- Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier data, and ensure adherence to internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the enhancement of procurement processes, vendor performance, and overall supply chain efficiency.
- Market Monitoring: Continuously monitor markets for new sourcing opportunities, material trends, and supply risks.
- Cost Management: Propose annual budgets to Supply Chain leadership and take corrective actions to ensure targets are met despite market fluctuations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related technical field
- 5+ years of experience in supply chain or procurement roles
- Minimum 2–5 years in a technical buyer/procurement role, ideally within manufacturing, engineering, or industrial sectors
- Familiarity with technical drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and production processes
- Knowledge of stainless steel, parts and components a plus
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Willingness to travel and collaborate with a global team
