TECHNICAL APPLICATIONS SPECIALIST / FLOW CYTOMETRY Full-time Industry: Information Technology Position: TECHNICAL APPLICATIONS SPECIALIST / FLOW CYTOMETRY Experience: 5+ to 7 years Responsible for providing field-based advanced flow cytometry applications support for BD Biosciences Cell Analysis external and internal customers. The Technical Applications Specialist (TAS) uses advanced technical expertise in flow cytometry applications to support business initiatives. This is a field-based position located in New Jersey or New York. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides onsite / remote technical consultations to BDB customers on products (instruments, software, and reagents). Records customer interactions and shares results to ensure collaboration between customer-facing groups. Works independently with minimal supervision. Maintains expertise in instruments, reagents, software, and applications; develops expertise on new products. Provides demonstrations of instruments and reagents in workshops or as product demos. Supports sales and marketing events, including trade shows, seminars, and user group meetings. Assists customers with flow cytometry workflow development, optimization, and implementation, including multicolor panels and assay development. Develops and delivers technical presentations aligned with BD business initiatives. Identifies scientific and clinical trends or issues, participates in escalation processes, and reports product incidents or customer complaints. Makes recommendations for new products, applications, and enhancements; contributes to product development committees. Assists with in-house product validations and collaborates with Validation department to write, execute, and report validation protocols. Keeps updated on regulatory compliance requirements, participates in training, and addresses related questions/issues. Promotes safety and participates in Environmental Health and Safety programs, reporting hazards or unsafe practices. Travel up to 70% for onsite support, primarily in the Mid-West regions, maintaining travel budget as per policy. Performs other related duties as required. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree minimum. 5+ years of flow cytometry experience. Experience in flow cytometric applications is required. Flexibility for domestic travel (minimum 70%). Valid driver's license. ASSETS: Bachelor's or advanced degree in life sciences or clinical fields preferred. Experience providing onsite technical support and demonstrations for sales. Knowledge of Pharmingen and BDIS products. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication, organization, and planning skills.
