We're seeking a Tech-Savvy Accounting Specialist who thrives at the intersection of accounting and technology. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to improve financial workflows through smart systems and automation. You'll be responsible for day-to-day accounting operations-such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and reporting-while also leveraging technology to streamline processes and enhance data accuracy. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with ERP systems, a passion for process optimization, and expertise in creating insightful dashboards to enhance financial reporting and decision-making. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of our accounting and business processes. Key Responsibilities:
  • Core Accounting Operations:
    • Perform core accounting functions: journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and account reconciliations
    • Manage AP and AR cycles with a focus on automation and process efficiency
    • Support month-end and year-end close processes
    • Assist with audits, internal controls, and process documentation
    • Support financial reporting and analysis activities as required.
  • ERP System Mastery & Optimization:
    • Serve as a power user and subject matter expert for our Epicor ERP system.
    • Utilize ERP functionalities to streamline data extraction, transaction processing, and reporting.
    • Identify opportunities to optimize ERP configurations and workflows for greater efficiency and data integrity.
  • Process Automation & AI Implementation:
    • Identify Automation Opportunities: Proactively analyze existing accounting processes to pinpoint areas ripe for automation, focusing on repetitive, rule-based tasks.
    • Design & Develop Bots: Hands-on design, development, testing, and deployment of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) using platforms like UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, or Microsoft Power Automate.
    • Explore AI/ML Applications: Research and pilot the use of AI/ML tools to enhance accounting functions, such as anomaly detection, predictive analytics, or intelligent document processing.
    • Maintain & Monitor: Monitor the performance of automated processes, troubleshoot issues, and implement continuous improvements.
  • Data Analysis & Dashboard Creation:
    • Utilize ERP systems (e.g., Epicor, NetSuite, SAP) to maintain accurate financial records
    • Extract, transform, and load financial data from various sources, including the ERP system.
    • Build or enhance interactive dashboards and reports using tools like Tableau, Power BI, Google Data Studio, Excel Power Query/Pivot to provide clear, actionable financial insights to stakeholders.
    • Report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and visualize trends to support strategic decision-making.
  • Continuous Improvement & Innovation:
    • Stay abreast of emerging technologies in accounting automation, robotics, and AI.
    • Identify and implement opportunities for automation using tools like Power Automate, SQL, or scripting.
    • Collaborate with IT, Finance, and other departments to optimize financial systems and integrations.
Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field • 2-5 years of accounting experience (manufacturing or tech environment a plus) • Proficiency in at least one ERP system (Epicor strongly preferred) • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, Power Query, VLOOKUPs, etc.) • Experience with data visualization or business intelligence tools is a plus • Tech-forward mindset with a willingness to experiment and optimize workflows • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines Bonus Skills (Not Required, but Nice to Have) • Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, SQL) • Familiarity with RPA tools or financial automation platforms • Experience with financial dashboards (Phocas, Tableau, Power BI) What We Offer:
