To perform laboratory analysis and administrative tasks associated with the clinical assessment of patients. Performs highly complex testing and coordinates teaching of Clinical Laboratory Science and medical students, residents, fellows, and other members of hospital staff. Executes tasks required to maintain accreditation with JCAHO, CAP, DCRA, AABB, and FDA.

Education/Qualification

• MT(ASCP) or eligible to obtain, plus five years of Medical Technologist experience, or
• Bachelor's degree in Biological Science plus five years of related experience. As required by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), employees with access to blood irradiators in the Transfusion Service section must undergo fingerprinting and a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) criminal background check.
