Job Description :

Reporting to the Corotech Supervisor I, with a dotted line to the Operations Manager and Transportation Manager, the Technician I's primary role is to assist in the technology relocation move process by physically and professionally disconnecting and reconnecting workstation PCs, peripherals, and related hardware.

The Technician I is an entry-level position and will receive appropriate training to ensure he/she can perform the job as expected.

The Technician I is assigned to work at different customer account locations to provide technical support for commercial moving projects. This position is responsible for ensuring the customer's requests related to IT technical support are carried out efficiently and in a timely manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below, but not limited to, are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Account Assignments:
  • Checks for start time (for next day's work schedule) in drop box daily.
  • Arrives at assignment in complete uniform and on-time every day.
  • Disconnects and reconnects PCs and other peripheral electronic desktop components per supervisor's direction and the specific job requirements.
  • Records basic system information on PC Disconnect/Reconnect Checklist such as serial numbers, manufacturer, model numbers, and placement.
  • Possesses the ability and willingness to assist the moving crews if needed.
  • May be required to set, offset, push, pull, lift, carry, and move computer equipment, furniture, miscellaneous equipment, and boxes as required.
  • Ensures a professional manner and appearance in provided Klinger uniform.
  • Captures the existing workstation layout at the customer site and ensures the new setup matches.
  • Labels all IT assets/inventories to prevent missing items during the move.
  • Manages cables and wires to ensure a neat and safe workstation.
  • Works carefully in a Lab environment (medical lab or computer lab).
  • Ensures tasks are completed within Corovan productivity standards.
  • Performs network connectivity testing.
Customer Relations:
  • Maintains excellent customer service with customers, transportation, and operation teams.
  • Responds promptly to IT technical requests from customers.
  • Escalates technical issues/concerns to Corotech Manager.
  • Is punctual at all times and reports emergencies immediately.
  • Works cooperatively with crew members.
  • Is courteous, helpful, and professional to all customers.
  • Respects rules at each customer site regarding work locations and breaks.
  • Follows confidentiality rules regarding customer site processes, products, or services.
  • Adheres to all security rules of the company and customers.
Safety:
  • Performs work with quality, efficiency, and safety at all times.
  • Abides by safety rules and uses proper safety gear as required.
  • Reports unsafe or dangerous requests from customers to management.
Other duties:
  • Signs timesheets daily and completes documentation accurately.
  • Performs other duties as assigned based on business needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:

COMPETENCIES:
  • ORGANIZATION SKILLS: Organization and project planning skills with ability to juggle multiple assignments and tasks.
  • LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents in English and communicate effectively with customers and coworkers.
  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to perform basic math operations and interpret installation drawings and measurements.
  • REASONING ABILITY: Ability to follow instructions and solve problems involving concrete variables.
  • LEADERSHIP: Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • OTHER DUTIES: Electronics troubleshooting, client service, equipment maintenance, confidentiality, and understanding of server and lab equipment, move processes, and labeling.
  • EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

    Required:

    • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
    • Good understanding of computer hardware, cables, and connections.

    Preferred:

    • Two (2) years' related experience and/or training or equivalent.
    • One (1) to two (2) years in a tech support role.
    PRIMARY LOCATION:

    San Leandro; various job sites and customer locations.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    The physical demands include walking on level or uneven surfaces, handling equipment, lifting up to 50 pounds, pushing or pulling up to 100 pounds, crawling, reaching, standing, stooping, and other physical activities necessary for the role.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    Primarily an office environment with ambient temperatures, lighting, and noise typical of such settings.

    POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

    Variable hours, possibly including evenings and weekends, with overtime subject to approval.

    TRAVEL:

    100% travel to various sites and customer locations, with daily commuting required.
