Are you ready to be part of something big?This job supports the tax compliance process through data collection, analysis and research associated with various tax compliance activities. Duties also include managing the preparation of non-income tax filings and compliance (for example - sales and use tax, property tax, excise tax) as well as assistance with federal and state income tax filings. This position reports to the Senior Director Tax.

• Please note: This position is on-site in Ft Lauderdale, FL and does not qualify for relocation expenses.***

Principal Responsibilities

• Indirect Tax Compliance
• Research sales tax rules for automotive dealerships and automotive related products in various states
• Research sales tax rules for new lines of business
• Develop and/or maintain database with sales tax rules
• Sale/Use and Property Tax Compliance
• Maintain real estate tax database
• Assist with annual budgeting process
• Oversee Tax Registration process
• Assist in oversight/collection and analysis of data to support tax compliance
• Sales/Use tax compliance
• Personal Property Tax compliance
• Federal and state income tax returns
• Tax fixed asset analysis, calculations and data support
• Collaborate with other departments within AutoNation for data collection purposes and to meet tax department deadlines and objectives
• Respond to taxing authority notices and provide audit support
• Perform compliance-related federal and state tax research
• Assistance in the preparation of income tax calculations and filings
• State tax estimated payments & extensions
• Other projects as required

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in accounting with emphasis in tax preferred
• 3-5 years corporate tax experience

Skills

• Microsoft Office Applications
• MS Excel Proficiency
• MS Word Proficiency
• Familiarity with tax research tool
• Bloomberg BNA a plus
• Alteryx experience a plus
• Familiarity with general ledger software, such as People Soft/HFM a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Effective interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Detail-oriented
