JK Executive Strategies has partnered with a well-established CPA firm, headquartered in Rochester, NY in search of a Tax Principal to join its team. This organization is full of dedicated team members who strive for excellence while serving the Rochester community. Responsibilities

• Becoming the firm's technical subject-matter expert in a significant area of value to the firm and its clients.
• Being actively involved in firm committees to help maximize the potential and results of such committees.
• Taking on leadership roles at the firm level, beyond the immediate team.
• Communicating ideas for improving firm processes/operations and assisting with the creation of the plan to implement such ideas.
• Working with partners and management on strategy development and execution planning.
• Aggregate responsibility for planning, supervising, and completing engagements.
• Plan the timing and assigning of staff to engagements.
• Review engagement work papers, resolve any problems, and proactively keep the partner informed of all important developments in the engagement.
• Possess a working knowledge of firm technology, including the use of the firm network, email, and the Internet; and the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; and firm tax preparation, research, and time and billing software.
• Prepare client billings.
• Train, coach, mentor, and evaluate the performance of supervisors and senior accountants.
• Develop new client contacts and relationships beneficial to the firm.
• Assist in administrative functions as assigned by the partners.
• Recognize opportunities to provide additional services to existing clients.
• Perform other duties as assigned from time to time by the firm's partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent education.
• 3+ years' experience as a senior/supervisor accountant (or equivalent experience as deemed appropriate by the partners) and/or 3+ years' experience as a manager (or equivalent experience as deemed appropriate by the partners).
• CPA license, is required.
• Impeccable verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal abilities and negotiation tactics.
• Proactive and independent thinker.
• Superb time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Expertise and knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Technology savvy. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Experience with CCH Products and workstream a plus.

Salary Range

• $140K - $160k (not including incentivized compensation and/or benefits)
