This position is responsible for overseeing jurisdictional tax reporting, monitoring tax compliance, maintaining tax policies and processes, and serving as a resource on tax matters within the university.

The projected salary range is $100,000 - $105,000.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and foreign tax reporting requirements, including university tax returns and related filings.
  • Manage sales tax submissions and reconcile related accounts.
  • Prepare and submit property tax returns and assist with real estate tax submissions.
  • Develop and monitor tax compliance calendars and coordinate with relevant departments.
  • Stay updated on tax law changes and advise university leadership accordingly.
  • Handle IRS and state inquiries and examinations.
  • Conduct research and provide analyses on tax issues, acting as a resource for the university community.
  • Manage UBIT transactions and maintain related records.
  • Support tax provisions and international tax compliance.
  • Participate in university planning and operational initiatives related to tax.
  • Develop and improve tax policies, forms, and training materials.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects to ensure accurate financial reporting and a positive user experience.
    • Minimum Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree.
    • 3 years of tax preparation experience or 4 years of financial reporting/public accounting experience.
    • Preferred: experience with non-profit tax issues.
    • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
    • Ability to interpret and apply tax regulations.
    • Ability to build relationships across university departments.
