Job Title: Tax Manager – Private Equity Funds - Boston, MAPosition Overview:Our client is seeking a highly experienced Tax Manager for their tax team to support the full spectrum of tax compliance and reporting functions for their private equity investment structures. The successful candidate will bring a deep understanding of fund structuring, complex investments, and cross-border taxation, and work closely with internal stakeholders across finance, legal, and operations to implement and maintain tax-efficient strategies.Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the preparation and review of tax returns for partnerships and investment entities, ensuring compliance with U.S. federal, state, and international tax laws.
• Manage the preparation and review of Schedule K-1s and investor tax packages, ensuring accurate and timely income allocation and reporting.
• Lead the timely filing of all fund and entity-level tax compliance reports.
• Advise on tax-efficient structuring for new fund formations, acquisitions, and investment exits.
• Analyze the tax implications of investment transactions, including carried interest, UBTI, and treaty applications.
• Provide strategic tax planning support to optimize investment and operational outcomes.
• Coordinate investor tax reporting and respond to related inquiries.
• Structure capital calls, distributions, and debt arrangements in a tax-efficient manner.
• Monitor and assess the impact of domestic and international tax law changes on fund operations.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to implement tax strategies and ensure compliance across teams.
• Manage relationships with external tax advisors, auditors, and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, JD, or MST preferred.
• 4–6 years of tax experience, preferably within private equity, asset management, or partnership taxation.
• Deep understanding of private equity tax issues, including carried interest, distribution mechanics, debt-financing rules, and cross-border tax regimes.
• Demonstrated experience with Schedule K-1s and partnership tax compliance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex tax matters.
• Proficient in tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with investors and internal stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
