To safeguard the financial interests of the bank, using expertise and diligence to maintain tax compliance, mitigate tax risks and ensure tax is appropriately reflected in the Groups financial planning and external financial reporting. Accountabilities. Preparation or review of relevant tax returns in accordance with applicable tax law and agreeing compliance positions with the tax authorities. Preparation or review of tax accounting calculations and disclosures in accordance with applicable accounting standards for group forecasting, reporting and stress testing. Provision of technical insight, analysis and conclusions on a variety of tax technical areas to determine appropriate tax treatment. Analysis of relevant developments in tax law to ensure the impact on Barclays is understood and appropriately managed.
