Tax Accountant - Tandym Group : Job Details

An investment services firm in New York City is currently seeking a new Tax Accountant for a promising opportunity with their growing staff. In this role, the Tax Accountant will be responsible for the preparation of individual, trust, corporate, and employee benefit tax returns. Responsibilities: The Tax Accountant will:

• Advise clients on tax optimization strategies and helps them make smart financial decisions to maximize their long-term savings
• Engage and implement client solutions from beginning to end (planning, executing, and completing tax projects)
• Analyze each client's financial records and prepare tax returns, including returns with varying degrees of complexity
• Use frequent discretion and independent judgement to make recommendations regarding tax savings opportunities
• Proactively interact with clients to gather information, resolve tax related issues and make recommendations for business and process improvements
• Understanding of tax code, tax law issues, including state and local, and utilize that knowledge to advise clients against potential tax liabilities
• Work with the Tax Partners and Advisory staff to develop timely work products for High Net Worth client base
• Perform other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in Tax Consulting.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, and/or a related field
• Strong skills in Tax Accounting and Compliance
• In-depth knowledge of applicable tax laws, regulations and deadlines
• Solid problem solving and time management skills
• Great interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong attention to detail
• Highly organized

Desired Skills:

• Proficiency in CCH PROfx, BNA Tax Planner and Microsoft Office suite
