About Us

Founded in 2004 by geologists Bill and Liz Armstrong, Epoch Estate Wines is an ultra-premium producer of Rhône, Bordeaux, and Spanish varieties grown on our three west Paso Robles estate vineyards—Paderewski, Catapult, and York Mountain. Under the expert craftsmanship of winemaker, Jordan Fiorentini, we produce highly rated wines using organic and biodynamic practices.

Position Overview

As a Tasting Room Educator, you will play a vital role in providing a warm and engaging guest experience. You'll share the Epoch story, educate visitors about our wines, and ensure every guest leaves with a memorable impression of our brand. We're looking for someone who is personable, passionate, and knowledgeable — an excellent communicator who can make wine education both fun and accessible.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create a welcoming and educational environment for all guests
  • Lead by example to foster a positive, respectful team culture
  • Share detailed knowledge of Epoch's wines, history, and winemaking practices
  • Provide engaging and insightful tastings, tailoring the experience to each guest
  • Assist with special events as needed
  • Ensure smooth day-to-day operations of the Tasting Room, including opening, closing, and maintaining cleanliness
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, resolving guest inquiries with professionalism
  • Operate POS and reservation systems (WineDirect, Commerce7, Tock experience preferred)

Pay Range

· Hourly compensation ranges from $19.50 - $21.50 + tips and incentives. Open to negotiation depending on experience.

What We're Looking For

  • Full-time: five days per week.
  • A team player with a positive attitude and a passion for wine and hospitality
  • Strong sales and communication skills, with the ability to connect with guests of all backgrounds
  • Availability to work weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings
  • Must be available to work Saturdays
  • Ability to stand and walk for 8 - 10 hours per shift
  • Capability to lift and move 30 pounds (required); 50 pounds (preferred)
  • Ability to open, handle, and pour wine bottles (~6 lbs each) throughout the shift
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred
