Position Summary: i.c.stars is seeking a Talent Placement Specialist to support the career success of our program graduates and play a key role in advancing our mission to develop future technology and community leaders. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Talent Placement Specialist is responsible for preparing, coaching, and connecting interns and alumni to employment opportunities in the tech sector. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, and who brings a unique blend of career coaching expertise and relationship-building savvy. The Talent Placement Specialist works closely with interns throughout their job search journey-providing resume support, interview preparation, and career guidance-while also managing and growing relationships with employer partners, alumni, and volunteers to drive placement outcomes. With a goal of achieving 80% graduate job placement within 90 days of program completion, this role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to tailor interactions to a variety of stakeholders, from aspiring technologists to corporate hiring managers. The Talent Placement Specialist also monitors industry trends, helps match graduates to open roles, and actively participates in networking events to expand the employment pipeline. This is a high-impact, mission-aligned role for someone who is passionate about workforce development, equity in tech, and the power of career opportunity to transform lives. Responsibilities:
  • Achieving an intern placement rate of 80% within 90 days of their program completion.
  • Playing an active role in the internship matching process to ensure the best placement fit.
  • Staying current with technology labor market trends and job search strategies.
  • Attending networking events to generate new employer partnerships.
  • Securing and filling job requisition goals annually to meet organizational placement objectives.
  • Providing career guidance, resume feedback, and interview preparation support for interns.
  • Managing a network of volunteers to enhance resume feedback and mock interviews.
  • Collaborating with the Executive Director to identify and leverage new opportunities with existing partners.
  • Tracking and updating the job pipeline forecast weekly
  • Performing other duties as assigned to support the goals and mission of i.c.stars.
  • Engagement with both internal and external stakeholders, adapting communication styles to diverse audiences, and thriving in a fast-paced environment will be essential for success in this role

What You Bring:
  • 2+ years of experience in staffing, job readiness, career services, or a related field, ideally within workforce development or community-based organizations
  • Knowledge of job coaching, career counseling, workforce training, and/or corporate staffing requirements
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated professionalism in follow-up, follow-through, and stakeholder engagement
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • A resourceful self-starter who can work both independently and collaboratively
  • Comfortable working in a tight-knit, mission-driven team environment
  • Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM platforms is a plus
  • Strong work ethic, adaptability, and a positive, can-do attitude
  • Availability for occasional evening or weekend events
