Talent & Development SpecialistFull-Time | $60,000 - $65,000/year (based on education & experience) About the Role:Kendal at Ithaca is seeking a detail-oriented and values-driven Talent & Development Specialist to join our Human Resources team. In this full-time, non-exempt position, you'll lead efforts to build and sustain a thoughtful, efficient, and mission-aligned hiring experience. With a focus on recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies, this role helps shape the future of our workforce-ensuring we attract, welcome, and support the right talent. The ideal candidate brings a passion for organized systems, clear communication, and collaborative processes that reflect Kendal's commitment to respect, care, and trust. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage full-cycle recruitment, from job postings to onboarding, in alignment with strategic staffing goals
- Develop and maintain systems that streamline hiring processes and improve manager efficiency
- Facilitate orientation and onboarding programs that foster belonging
- Track key hiring and onboarding metrics to support decision-making and continuous improvement
- Support HR-related communications, including job ads and social media content
- Maintain compliance with applicable employment laws and internal policies
- Contribute to employee engagement and retention initiatives in collaboration with the HR team
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in HR or related field and 2+ years of HR or recruitment experience - OR -
- Bachelor's degree in HR or related field and 1+ year of experience - OR -
- 4+ years of experience in recruitment, hiring, or onboarding (experience in long-term care or healthcare preferred)
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and build strong internal partnerships
- Familiarity with applicant tracking systems, onboarding tools, and HR best practices
- Demonstrated discretion, professionalism, and a commitment to inclusion and confidentiality
