Primary Purpose

The Talent Development Specialist I coordinates training and education for new hires, including basic professional and IT skills. This role supports employee engagement activities and the Five Pillars Academy, which offers courses to enhance business and professional skills.

Essential Functions:

  • Support the Talent Development Strategic Plan and objectives.
  • Assist with employee retention strategies.
  • Manage and conduct new hire orientations and follow-up on mandatory education.
  • Distribute onboarding and post-hire surveys; review and update orientation content annually.
  • Create and facilitate learning activities for employee development.
  • Coordinate training sessions, including scheduling and logistics.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness through feedback and assessments.
  • Develop communication and promotional materials with the Talent Development Team.
  • Serve as liaison for employees and trainers.
  • Support engagement activities and recognition programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical and Other Requirements:

  • Stooping, reaching, mobility within the office and between sites.
  • Frequent communication with others.
  • Work in a biohazard environment requiring PPE in accordance with CDC and OSHA.
  • Adhere to ARUP Policies and Procedures.
  • Perform sedentary work, exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally.
  • Use fine motor control for typing and handling objects.
  • Have visual acuity for detailed observations.
Qualifications Skills Behaviors Motivations Education Required

Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field.

Experience Required

1-2 years in training, facilitation, organizational development, or employee engagement; degree in Business, HR, Psychology, or related.

Preferred

Experience with LEaP and Qualtrics Survey Tool.

Experience with employee training and development programs.

Licenses & Certifications
