The City of Auburn Human Resources & Risk Management Department is looking for a detail oriented, customer-focused Recruitment Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will provide full-cycle recruiting services, consultation, guidance, analysis, and maintain processes and activities that support the City's equitable recruitment objectives. Our ideal candidate will know how to identify top quality talent and serve as candidates' first and constant point of contact throughout the recruitment process and into onboarding. We are looking for a candidate who has a strong foundation of knowledge in Human Resources, someone who will bring hands-on experience supporting recruitment and selection activities in a public sector environment, and has proficiency as a NEOGOV Insight user. THE HUMAN RESOURCES & RISK MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT The Department is made up of 10 full-time positions: the Director, Assistant Director, HR Manager, three (3) HR Analysts, two (2) HR Coordinators, a Court Coordinator, and an Administrative Assistant. The team develops and administers personnel policies, manages the recruitment lifecycle, and negotiates and administers labor agreements. The department also handles citywide training programs, monitors compliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations, manages the City's contract with King County District Court, oversees the City's risk management programs, and ensures compliance with the City's safety program.   • Lead and support recruitment efforts for a variety of classifications, including full-time, part-time, seasonal, and intern positions, ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements and City policies.
  • Coordinate and support workforce development programs, including internships, apprenticeship pipelines, veteran transition efforts, trainee programs, and community outreach partnerships.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with colleges, trade schools, veterans' organizations, workforce development boards, and community-based organizations to build talent pipelines.
  • Design and implement inclusive outreach strategies to attract a diverse applicant pool reflective of the community served.
  • Facilitate onboarding processes for new hires, ensuring legal and procedural compliance with background checks, required documentation, and orientation activities.
  • Monitor and support compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations and internal policies related to hiring, onboarding, and workforce development.
  • Track and analyze recruitment and workforce development metrics to evaluate program effectiveness and inform future strategies.
  • Provide technical guidance to hiring managers on recruitment best practices, classification requirements, and workforce program options.
  • Support equity and accessibility goals in hiring and workforce development through continuous improvement of recruitment practices and partnerships.

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or closely related field; AND
  • Two (2) years of related human resources experience (preferably in full-cycle recruitment) and advanced computer skills; OR
  • A combination of education, experience, and training that would indicate the ability to complete the primary functions of the position in a satisfactory manner.
WE WOULD REALLY LOVE IT IF YOU HAVE...
  • Previous public sector experience
  • Skill with current computerized human resources systems, preferably NEOGOV
  • Previous experience utilizing social media as a recruitment tool, showing the ability to recruit passive candidates
  • Experience planning, organizing, and presenting at job fairs and other hiring events
  • Experience preparing and presenting recruitment and staffing statistical reports
NOTE: This position will be required to be fingerprinted and complete the CJIS (Criminal Justice Information Services) Security Certification Test to be allowed to view sensitive information and have unescorted access while at the Police Department (per Washington State Patrol ACCESS unit.
