Responsible for ensuring material delivery is in alignment with supporting program milestones and to communicate risk internally to the engineering team and program manager. Technical background to work with engineering at development stages of design. Able to evaluate supplier capabilities to determine appropriate source selection for development requirements. Effective communication of part delivery status including expediting activities for items needed for scheduled development testing. Anticipate Supply Chain and Value Stream needs at the development stage and respond to concerns and conflicts before parts are released for production. Responsible for engineering team purchasing card and reconciling transactions. To work with the commodity team to ensure that supplier communication and related metrics support team goals. Capable of working independently and reacting quickly to changing priorities. Strong analytical skills for quoting and sourcing activities. Coordinate sourcing decisions with tactical buyer on parts released to production. Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with 1 year of supply chain experience in manufacturing OR Associates degree from an accredited institution with 5 years of supply chain experience in manufacturing No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of Orchard Park, NY to be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration or Engineering Degree Working knowledge of MRP, purchasing, work in process, and inventory modules of Oracle ERP system Professional certification (APICS, CPM) Lean Manufacturing Experience Position Criteria Experience in materials management or purchasing Solid understanding of materials management methodologies Experience utilizing lean manufacturing tools to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Knowledge of products and customer base Working knowledge of Systems and Procedures as it pertains to the materials management function and Purchasing Standard work. Personal computing, organizational, analytical, communication, negotiating, leadership, inventory management tools including kanban, LTA's, AMPA's, Performance Management, SIOP process
