About the Role
The Safety Engineer participates in the design review and Engineering Construction team, leading systems safety activities including, but not limited to:
- Implementing development best practices and rules as defined.
- Reviewing system designs submitted by contractors to check compliance with specifications, client requirements, and local practices.
- Planning and executing technical safety-related engineering activities in projects.
- Having strong experience in systems/sub-systems participating in their functions.
- Performing control engineering activities from architecture to detailed specifications, interfaces, and functional principles.
- Conducting technical safety analysis and assessments, establishing, verifying, and updating documentation until handover into operations and maintenance.
- Gaining experience in maintenance activities for system alarms, architecture with signaling and ATC, and external systems such as MEP, telecom, power, rolling stock, firefighting, AFC, etc.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams internally and with clients.
- Supporting other system and civil teams during delivery according to the approved design, technical specs, and quality standards, including installation and testing & commissioning activities.
- Conducting design reviews of structural elements thoroughly and timely.
- Supporting other members of the technical team on technical issues.
- Providing relevant input for regular and ad-hoc reports.
Requirements
- Overall experience of 10 years, including 6 years of professional experience in the same field.
- At least 4 years of experience in managing and implementing similar projects and in a similar position.
- Knowledge of main railway systems used in the Metro and safety requirements according to international standards and best practices.
- Familiarity with railway standards EN50126, EN50128, and EN50129.
- Strong communication, coordination, and management skills.
