Position Responsibilities:
This position is part of the Data Quality Workgroup, which helps the libraries of the public university and college systems of Florida manage and maintain the Integrated Library System.This position is responsible for ad hoc reports to support the management, collection, and day-to-day reporting needs of the libraries.Responsible for supporting Alma Analytics in the new Integrated Library System.Works collaboratively with other FLVC staff such as ILS librarians, DBAs, and programmers.Assists with the planning and implementation of the Integrated Library System by performing system configurations to support the needs of the libraries throughout the state.Creates and maintains web-based management reports used by library faculty and staff.Designs and provides ad hoc reports based on library requests, for FLVC/FALSC statistics, or as needed for database analysis.Supports the creation of reports in Alma Analytics in the new ILS.Resolves problems identified via problem tracking software, email, and telephone, which may require work outside of business hours in case of emergencies.Advises and consults with library staff on issues of data maintenance and integrity.Assists in the planning and coordination of projects related to ILS.Participates in training to further develop SQL skills.Performs work in support of business processes and projects, as assigned.Performs time-sensitive tasks and meets established deadlines; maintains effective communications with appropriate FLVC staff; maintains effective working relationships to ensure the success of the business processes and projects.Performs related duties as needed/required.Qualifications:
Required
Bachelor's degree and two years' experience or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience (Note: or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years).A minimum of three years' experience using complex SQL queries for report creation.Experience working with library data, including but not limited to MARC Bibliographic data, circulation data, acquisitions data, or COUNTER data.A minimum of three years' experience using software or other query building tools, such as SQL Developer, MS Access, etc., to run SQL queries.A minimum of five years' experience working in an academic or public library.Knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the network and data field.Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and establish and maintain effective working relationships.Ability to develop and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously and document existing and new processes.Ability to utilize technical and problem-solving skills.Preferred
Master's degree in library and information science or equivalent degree from an ALA-accredited program (preferred but not required).Excellent skills in the analysis of library data and data relationships.Excellent problem-solving skills in general and particularly in working with library staff to achieve their desired report outcomes.Systems-level experience with an integrated library automation system and web-based library services such as Ex Libris Alma/Analytics/Primo VE.Criminal Background Check Requirement:
This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check. The background check will be conducted as authorized and in accordance with University Policy 4-OP-C-7-B11.
