Responsibilities

• Conduct analyses to develop design options, perform modeling and calculations for protective relay systems.
• Perform QA reviews of P&C design on substation design packages.
• Prepare design sketches and redline drawings on substation design projects including one-line diagrams, protection and control schematic development, wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, substation physical layouts, material lists, and conduit and cable sizing/routing.
• Perform routine engineering and design tasks and participate in field reviews or construction observation.
• Work under the direct supervision of a Senior Engineer.
• Work independently on small tasks and may assist senior engineers on larger, more complex projects.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with Power emphasis.
• Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
• Familiarity or willingness to learn electrical engineering software such as AutoCAD, CAPE, ASPEN, and ETAP.
• 2+ years experience doing electrical power system analysis, electrical system planning, protective device application, settings and substation design is highly preferred.
