Job DescriptionSystems Engineer - Job Summary We're seeking a Systems Engineer to support, maintain, and troubleshoot airport systems including passenger boarding bridges, baggage conveyors, PCA units, 400Hz ground power, motor controls, hydraulics, PLCs, VFDs, and associated electrical/mechanical systems. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance, repairs, inspections, and diagnostics on automated airport systems and ground support equipment.
- Design and support electrical and PLC control systems including panel layouts, schematics, and programming (Allen-Bradley preferred).
- Execute preventive and corrective maintenance, system upgrades, and commissioning efforts.
- Troubleshoot and repair components such as motors, sensors, encoders, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and electronic controls.
- Mentor and guide junior staff; support training and technical documentation.
- Utilize software including Microsoft Office, CMMS systems, and AutoCAD (preferred).
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, documentation, and customer standards.
- Travel required for commissioning and on-site support; occasional off-hours and weekend work.
Qualifications:
- Technical degree (BSEE, Engineering Technology, or related) or equivalent experience.
- Strong problem-solving, time management, and communication skills.
- Experience with PLCs (ControlLogix), VFDs, control panel design, and system commissioning.
- Ability to read/interpret schematics; strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Must obtain/maintain airport security badge and valid driver's license.
Preferred Experience:
- Material handling systems, AutoCAD, Allen-Bradley PLC programming.
