Security Clearance: DoD Secret Requisition ID: NIWC-D8217-SED Work Type: Full Time Telework Flexible: Yes Salary Range: $90,000 -$130,000 Job Summary: We are seeking a a talented Software Engineer to join our team in supporting the Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific (NIWC PAC) in San Diego, CA. In this role, you'll contribute to mission-critical C4I (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence) systems that support the Navy and national defense. You'll be part of a team that values innovation, modern software practices, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities:Develop, integrate, and test software in support of Navy and Joint C4I systemsImplement DevSecOps pipelines to automate delivery, testing, and deploymentWork with containers (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift) to build and manage microservicesSupport customers in a cloud/on-prem hybrid environmentMaintain and manage CI/CD pipelines including installs, automated testing, scanning, and patchingTransition external applications into the DevSecOps pipeline—helping product teams get to production fasterCollaborate on automated cybersecurity, static/dynamic scanning, and software quality validationProvide scripting and system administration support in Linux/Unix and Windows environmentsAssist with infrastructure in AWS and virtualized environments (VMware, etc.) Required Qualifications:Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or related fieldSecurity+ Certification (DoD 8570 IAT Level II)Operating System Certification (Windows, Red Hat Linux, AWS, etc.) Preferred Experience:3–6 years of hands-on software engineering experienceProficient in Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, AnsibleCloud experience with AWS, including administration and deploymentStrong scripting skills (Bash, Python, Perl, Ruby)Deep knowledge of Linux/UNIX systems and administrationFamiliarity with Navy C4I systems and DoD engineering practicesExperience with networking and virtualization (VMware)Experience with containerization and micro servicesAgile/SCRUM project experience Tech Stack & Tools Environment Overview Languages: Python, Java, Bash, PoweShell and others depending on the projectTools: Git, Jenkins, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, Confluence, JIRA, and other modern DevSecOps platformsSystems: Linux-based environments, Windows, AWS You'll Thrive Here If You:Enjoy building automation into everythingAre passionate about DevSecOps and delivering secure software fastLike working with modern tools in high-stakes environmentsWant to grow your career while working on impactful, defense-related projectsA mid-level developer with a few years of experience in software engineering or DevSecOpsComfortable working in fast-paced, mission-driven environmentsPassionate about learning new things and solving complex technical problemsAble to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
