Autonomy Lead System Architect

You will be the Autonomy Lead System Architect within the classified Advanced Development Program delivery order portfolio. Our team is responsible for designing and developing comprehensive, integrated, and executable technical solutions that include air vehicle, mission systems, weapons, and autonomy components.

As the System Architect Principal, you will be viewed as the most senior authority in the discipline and will be responsible for supporting additional program capture opportunities, as part of a larger team, including strategy development, operational analysis applications, and related activities.

This position is in Palmdale, CA. You will need to be a US Citizen, and currently possess and be able to maintain a US DoD SECRET clearance, to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience with hardware and software architecture, networking, and/or computer resources (memory, processing, etc.)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of systems architecture and best practices
  • Knowledge and experience with avionics development programs
  • Experience with model-based systems engineering, and/or DevSecOps

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with autonomous system software solutions, including software design, development, and testing
  • Knowledge of communications protocols and standards
  • Experience with systems integration and test
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to lead a team of multi-function, multi-site engineers
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support the development of communications to customers at peer and senior levels
  • Experience with travel, with a minimum of 1 trip per month expected
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with short timelines and multiple priorities

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $157,800 - $278,185. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.

The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $181,400 - $314,525.
