Job Description :

As a Systems Administrator you will maintain and support our On-Prem IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Nutanix clusters, Windows Server environments, and a range of network and security solutions including Cisco Meraki, Fortinet solutions, Bitdefender and NAS devices. This role is responsible for the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of our IT systems and network infrastructure to support business operations. In this role you will:

  • Manage and maintain a Nutanix cluster environment hosting Windows-based virtual machines.
  • Administer Windows Server infrastructure, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
  • Perform network troubleshooting and support for all physical and virtual network infrastructure, including Cisco Meraki switches and access points.
  • Configure and manage Fortinet firewalls, VPNs, and endpoint protection solutions.
  • Oversee Bitdefender antivirus solutions and ensure file server integrity and protection.
  • Maintain a robust data backup and recovery strategy using Microsoft Azure and NAS devices.
  • Support GoDaddy DNS management for our public-facing domain and website.
  • Develop and implement IT procedures, documentation, and network/system topology diagrams.
  • Ensure system uptime, performance, and reliability through proactive maintenance and server/cluster node patching.
  • Monitor and respond to alerts or performance issues across systems.
  • Coordinate with vendors and support teams as needed for escalation or hardware/software issues
  • Weekly after-hours maintenance is required from time to time
Detailed Responsibilities: System & Server Administration
  • Deploy, configure, and manage Windows Server infrastructure including roles such as Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and file/print services.
  • Maintain and monitor virtual machines running on the Nutanix cluster, including patch management, provisioning, and resource optimization.
  • Schedule and perform regular system updates, patches, and firmware upgrades to ensure optimal performance and security.
Network Infrastructure
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN) including Cisco Meraki switches and access points.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network outages, slowdowns, and configuration issues related to routing, VLANs, or connectivity.
Security & Firewall Management
  • Monitor firewall logs and threat intelligence feeds to detect and respond to suspicious activity.
  • Maintain endpoint protection across the environment using Forticlient EMS, ensuring all endpoints are secure and updated with the necessary patches.
Backup & Disaster Recovery
  • Manage Microsoft Azure and NAS-based backup solutions, ensuring regular backups are completed and verified.
  • Test and document disaster recovery processes to minimize downtime and data loss in case of failure.
  • Conduct periodic recovery drills and update disaster recovery documentation.
User & Identity Management
  • Create, modify, and deprovision user accounts, permissions, and access rights across systems and applications.
  • Enforce security policies such as password policies, account lockout rules, and multi-factor authentication where applicable.
  • Support user onboarding/offboarding processes, including computer setups, credentials, and access provisioning.
Documentation & Process Development
  • Create and maintain up-to-date documentation for all IT procedures, infrastructure, diagrams, and inventory.
  • Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for routine tasks, change management, and incident response.
  • Assist in audits by providing documentation and verifying compliance with internal IT policies.
DNS & External Services
  • Manage DNS records and domain settings through GoDaddy, ensuring availability and security of hosted services.
  • Monitor and renew SSL certificates, domain registrations, and other time-sensitive external services.
Support & Maintenance
  • Provide Level 2/3 support for escalated help desk tickets, troubleshooting system-level issues on servers and network equipment.
  • Maintain and upgrade hardware including servers, switches, storage devices, and cabling when necessary.
  • Collaborate with vendors and service providers for hardware procurement, support contracts, and warranty services.
Proactive Monitoring & Optimization
  • Use monitoring tools to assess system health, performance, and capacity planning.
  • Identify areas for improvement and propose infrastructure upgrades or optimizations.
  • Ensure system logs are collected and reviewed regularly for anomalies or potential risks.
What you bring to the table:
  • Technology degree in Computer Science, or related field preferred.
  • Certifications Comptia A+ and Comptia Network +
  • Solid System Administrator experience.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Work Shift and Hours: Monday - Friday, standard business hours, mostly in office with some remote opportunity Compensation Details:
  • The expected rate of pay for this position is starting at $38.46- $52.88/hour depending on experience.
