Description This position ensures the reliable, efficient and secure operation of the Town's various computing systems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Install, configure and update physical and virtual computing hardware, operating systems and software.
  • Manage deployed computing systems, maintaining operational visibility to proactively identify and remediate possible performance, patch application and security incidents.
  • Monitor the consistent application and maintenance of mobile device management (MDM) and security policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines to ensure computing systems are secure and protected appropriately.
  • Make recommendations for improvements and collaborate with staff to implement corrective measures to ensure performance, compliance and the overall security of computing systems.
  • Administrate computing systems user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
  • Resolve system errors or failures. Identify system problems and implement corrective actions. Address problems in hardware, software, and procedures.
  • Provide employee help desk support for information technology service requests.
  • Manage computing systems backup operations according to data retention policies, ensuring all required assets and data are appropriately and successfully backed up.
  • Assist with the continuing development, testing, and maintenance of business continuity, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Facilitate regularly scheduled employee information technology training.
  • Perform periodic compliance, equipment and software inventories and maintain records.
  • Periodically required to work after business hours, as necessary.
  • Perform related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Direct, hands-on experience managing Microsoft based computing systems including physical and virtual workstations and servers in an enterprise environment.
  • Demonstrate good troubleshooting and problem analysis skills, initiative and a consistent, positive, professional attitude.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, identity and policy administration. Knowledge of Microsoft services and client applications.
  • Knowledge of Mobile Device Management (MDM) software.
  • Knowledge of patch automation software.
  • Knowledge of governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) policy application, risk management concepts, IT general controls and auditing and security principals.
  • Knowledge of industry recognized compliance frameworks such as Center for Internet Security (CIS), NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), CJIS, etc.
  • Ability to teach technical ideas to a non-technical audience and to present information in written, oral, and multimedia formats to individuals and small groups.
  • Ability to provide direction with coorspondence, memos, and other documentation.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to work independently with general supervision and direction.
Education and Experience
  • Any combination of education, training and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a Associate's Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS
  • Possession of a valid Florida Driver's License.
  • Must obtain FDLE certification following employment.
