System Safety Engineers Location: Woburn, Massachusetts or Tewksbury, Massachusetts Required: US Citizenship W2 hourly Contract to Hire Only Pay: $50.00 to $104.00/hr. D.O.E. Based on the benefits chosen ***No C2C, we can NOT work with outside agencies/vendors, and we can NOT do 1099-US US CITIZENSHIP CLEARANCE IS REQUIRED*** Different Levels of Roles Available. REQUIRED * US CITIZENSHIP with the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance * Typically Requires: Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and minimum of 2-12 years of relevant experience. An advanced degree may account for additional years of experience as required for this position.* Experience with Safety Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical or Firmware Engineering.Qualifications Preferred: * Experience with DoD System Safety Programs e.g. MIL-STD-882 / DO-178* Experience with system and software safety implementation in Agile Development environment* Experience interfacing with Human Systems Integration showcasing execution of Human Factors Engineering tasking involving MIL-STD-1472.* Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and Proposal Development* Familiarity with Engineering Change Proposals, Engineering Review Boards, System Safety Working GroupsWhat You Will Do * Performing System Safety planning, hazard analyses, and design analyses* Assist with design of concise, testable safety requirements or providing safety analysis of existing requirements* Briefing safety considerations at technical reviews and as part of the safety approval process* Interpreting system requirements, customer specifications and military standards* Preparing internal and customer reports describing various analyses relevant to the System Safety program* Collaborating across multiple disciplines to gain a full understanding of product architecture and design* Interfacing with other engineering functions: Systems Engineering, Software or Firmware Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Hardware Engineering* Managing System Safety Working Group(s) between key representatives * Developing and implementing one or more MIL-STD-882E compliant system safety programs* Performing MIL-STD-882 System Safety Program tasks and analyses, involving management (task series 100), analysis (task series 200), evaluation (task series 300), and verification (task series 400).* Working across all integrated product teams and lines to properly eliminate hazards or provide effective controls.* Coordinating with customer safety representatives applying methods, standards, and techniques to provide clarification of system requirements to software, hardware, and test personnel to ensure design and architecture considerations are appropriately allocated to the system and horizontally integrated across the development teams.* Collaborating with Program Management and government approval authorities from program startup through production to demilitarization and disposal backgrounds.Please respond to Meredith Baldwin with your interest level, recent copy of your resume and your availability for a call to *Rates listed are not a guarantee of salary/rate.
