What we need

Symbotic is seeking a System Engineer to operate our system control center, ensuring critical issues are communicated effectively to cross-functional teams to optimize system performance. You will lead continuous improvement and troubleshooting projects by identifying root causes and collaborating with teams to meet performance standards.

What we do

The System Engineer is part of the Customer Operations team, responsible for managing daily operations of Symbotic's robotic material handling system. This team drives operational excellence by partnering with onsite customers to ensure top quality, safety, and system performance.

What you'll do

  • Monitor the health of automated adapters, vertical lifts, and robotic vehicles.
  • Troubleshoot complex system and operational issues.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to site teams and clients.
  • Document issues and collaborate with engineering for solutions.
  • Train operators on system components and resolve IT-related problems.
  • Backfill key on-site roles as needed.
  • Partner with customers and internal teams.
  • Assist in escalation processes for production-impacting problems.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for warehouse automation.
  • Ensure safety compliance with OSHA, Symbotic, and customer protocols.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Software, Automation Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience with automated systems.
  • Experience with PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens), robots (ABB), and software languages like SQL, Linux, Python.
  • Hands-on experience with robotics and electromechanical troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Willingness to learn new equipment and assist team members.
  • High sense of urgency.

Our Environment

  • Must have a valid driver's license and ability to travel to client sites.
  • Responsible for managing expenses and owning a company credit card.
  • Physical requirements include walking, reaching, working at heights up to 45 feet, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Compliance with safety protocols, PPE requirements, and working in various environmental conditions is mandatory.
