Located in the heart of Georgia within an easy drive of the metro Atlanta area, the Twin Lakes Library System seeks a dynamic and visionary leader to serve as System Director. Milledgeville, the county seat, is a charming historic town with a picturesque downtown and abundant community spirit. Baldwin County hosts access to Lake Sinclair, several walking and biking trails, and a regional airport.
The library, with a budget of nearly $1 million and three branches, serves almost 50,000 residents who reside in the City of Milledgeville and Baldwin County. The library is embarking on a major renovation project that will allow the library to continue to provide outstanding library services to the community from its main branch.

Job Objectives:The person in this position, under the leadership and direction of the Library Board of Trustees, is responsible for planning, organizing, and administering the various operations of the System.
Job Schedule:System Director is a 40 hour per week salaried position.
Essential Job Functions:Master's Degree in Library Science (MLIS) from an ALA accredited institution. Must possess a working knowledge of accounting, finance, personnel management, data processing, and statistics. Extensive work experience (minimum five years) at an administrative level with an understanding of the legal structure, organization, operation, and finances of the System and any associated funding agencies is required. Must have a valid Professional Librarian's Certificate from the State of Georgia. Must be able to maintain good morale, high level of productivity, have good professional judgment, and be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the Board of Trustees. Applicant must have the ability to work well with the public and be able to supervise the work of others.
