System Administrator with Vanderbilt University (Nashville, TN) Support, troubleshoot, handle configuration development, and testing and training for systems support. Assist in quality control of overall work order data. Provide support for all AiM and ReADY issues. Troubleshoot application instance including the database, workflows, and financial back-end data processing. Generate specifications for new and existing systems modifications as needed for both AiM and ReADY. Administer configuration testing and changes. Review configuration requests and ascertain technical feasibility of the change and associated downstream system implications. Maintain security of system data. Patch system when required. Perform internal reviews of data integrity and system security. Manage permissions and system access. Develop and maintain appropriate process documentation. Develop and maintain training material for AiM and ReADY users. Monitor AiM user group listserv to assess how other higher education teams leverage AiM and ReADY to solve operational problems. Understand use of databases and create procedures, functions, and triggers to streamline database operations. Troubleshoot system errors. Create and maintain custom database tables and database views. Facilitate Vendor (AssetWorks) support. Develop reports for staff and leadership as needed. Position allows for remote work. Must report in office at least one day per week. Job Requirements: Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. Position requires 2 years of experience. Must have some experience in each of the following skills: Writing, debugging, and optimizing SQL queries and JavaScript for database management and system customizations; Database management systems (Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL), including creating and maintaining database tables, views, and stored procedures; Configuring and managing integrated Academic Data Systems including workflow automation, system updates, and testing system changes for security and performance; Managing and maintaining Windows and Linux servers, ensuring system uptime, security patching, and troubleshooting server-related issues; Using BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and open-source reporting tools like BIRT to develop operational reports and visualizations for data-driven decision-making; and Maintaining system security through patch management, auditing data integrity, and monitoring for vulnerabilities to ensure compliance and operational continuity.
