Contingent on award, Ampersand Solutions Group (AMPERSAND) has a requirement for one or more System Administrators who will support a critical DoD mission providing on premises and hybrid, multicloud server and systems administration and application/system cloud migration. Scope: Experience installing new or rebuilding existing servers in both physical and virtual. Configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, and storage through Agile methodologies. Perform day-to-day maintenance, patching, and ensuring STIG compliance by monitoring, testing performance, troubleshooting OS, resolving hardware and software problems, scheduling upgrades, and collaborating with other engineers on network / system optimization. Demonstrates understanding of how software behaves in order to deploy, configure, and troubleshoot systems. Research new technologies and leverages optimization techniques to ensure that systems operate efficiently. Experience with transitioning on-premises applications and software to the government hybrid-cloud solution and maintaining DoD approved cloud service providers to provide information technology services and capabilities to include high performance computing, Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), Data as a Service (DaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS) Cloud Service Offerings (CSOs). Required Qualifications
- Minimum 0-5 years of relevant, related experience plus:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in engineering, science, or other relevant field or:
- Associates Degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution plus 2 years relevant, related experience
- High School Diploma / GED from an accredited institution plus 4 years relevant, related experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance at the appropriate level
- Willing to periodically travel in support of test events
- Ability to support a hybrid work environment comprising telework and on-site support
- Certified in accordance with DoDI 8570.01M IAT Level 2 or higher
Desired Qualifications
- ACTIVE DoD SECRET or TOP SECRET Clearance
- Experience supporting the US Ballistic Missile Defense System
- Recognized expertise in specialized acquisition, logistics, technology, systems, or processes
- Proven mastery of relevant concepts, theories, principals, and techniques relevant to hybrid multicloud environments and/or analysis supporting DoD test missions
- Knowledgeable of DoD ballistic missile defense system testing direction and requirements
- Experience directly interfacing with project customers and stakeholders
- Knowledge of hybrid multicloud networking including local area networks (LAN), wide are networks (WAN), TCP/IP, WINS, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, FTP, HTTP/S, SMTP, SMB, etc
- Windowns and Linux systems administration experience
- Maintain IT and configuration management databases
- Track and maintain Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) / Government Furnished Property (GFP)
- Experience developing in an agile approach using scrums and sprint development cycles with regular releases and peer code reviews
- Experience utilizing and developing using cloud native IaaS and PaaS
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
