Adventurous Journeys Capital Partners (“AJCP”) is seeking a Senior Vice President, Accounting to lead strategic financial oversight and operational accounting for its diverse portfolio, with a focus on hospitality-driven real estate platforms like Graduate Hotels by Hilton and Marine and Lawn.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior Vice President, Accounting will be responsible for overseeing the financial reporting, operational accounting, and fund management for AJCP's hospitality real estate investments, including the Graduate Hotels platform. This senior leader will manage a team responsible for both property-level and fund-level financial operations, including complex fund accounting, joint venture structures, third-party reporting, and stakeholder management. The SVP, Accounting will act as a strategic financial partner to Accounting, Finance, Asset Management, Capital Markets and Investment leadership and provide executive-level guidance on financial strategy and process improvements.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Lead all aspects of financial reporting for hospitality-focused real estate investments, ensuring accurate, GAAP-compliant reporting for hotel-focused funds, joint ventures, and single-asset hospitality entities.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, including the preparation of consolidated financial statements, investor reports, asset management reports, and lender reporting packages, with a focus on hospitality-specific operational metrics.
• Manage third-party stakeholder relationships, including external auditors, fund administrators, JV partners, and hotel operators, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Provide strategic oversight of technical accounting issues, including investment-level fair value assessments, purchase price allocations, and consolidation accounting.
• Develop and implement best-in-class accounting policies, procedures, and controls for a vertically integrated real estate investment platform.
• Lead the financial integration of newly acquired properties and joint ventures, including Graduate Hotels, ensuring accurate reflection of fair market value and strategic alignment with corporate financial goals.
• Oversee the calculation of management fees, distribution waterfalls, and carried interest, in coordination with Finance and Capital Markets teams.
• Direct cash management activities for hotel properties, real estate funds, and joint ventures, including capital calls, distributions, and liquidity planning.
• Manage the annual audit and tax reporting processes, including coordination with third-party tax providers and internal tax teams.
• Serve as a senior financial leader and trusted partner to executive leadership, delivering strategic insights and decision support for hospitality portfolio performance.
• Mentor and develop a high-performing team of accounting and finance professionals, fostering a culture of financial excellence and continuous improvement.

WHO YOU ARE

AJCP is seeking a seasoned finance leader with extensive experience in real estate accounting, fund/JV structures, and hospitality finance. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of technical accounting, investment-level reporting, and the operational nuances of managing third-party operators like those within the Graduate Hotels portfolio. This role also requires the following capabilities:

• Strategic leader within the accounting organization, overseeing a dedicated hospitality-focused team and managing third-party relationships to ensure alignment with company goals and financial integrity.
• Strong executive communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to senior leadership ownership groups and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated expertise in technical accounting, including GAAP, fair value accounting, and fund-level financial management specifically for hospitality assets.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to managing financial risk.
• High degree of organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with a track record of mentoring and developing high-performance teams

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• 15+ years of relevant experience in real estate, hospitality, or fund accounting.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• Extensive experience managing third-party operators and complex fund structures.
• Proven leadership experience managing and mentoring accounting teams, with a focus on developing high-performing talent and fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
• Experience in the hospitality sector, particularly with vertically integrated platforms or fund-level structures.

Preferred

• Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (e.g., MAC, MBA).
• Certified Public Accountant
• Big 4 public accounting experience, combined with partnership accounting and investment company accounting expertise.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or range thereof, for roles that will be performed in Illinois. Actual salaries may vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, role and performance. The range listed is just one component of AJCP's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $180,000-$270,000. Other rewards may include annual bonuses. In addition, we provide a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off.
