WES SIT Project Manager Position Expectations

The Surveyor in Training (SIT) is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing survey projects while managing both office and field staff. Key responsibilities include overseeing project surveying services, mentoring and motivating teams, and maintaining strong client and internal relationships. The SIT participates in estimating, proposal preparation, and business development while coordinating staffing needs for projects of various scales. They supervise boundary analysis, direct field operations, ensure quality control of project deliverables, and track project budgets and resources. This role serves as the primary liaison between team members, performance metrics, and clients, ensuring successful project execution and staff development.

Specific Responsibilities

Develop & Manage Proposals & Bids, Budgets, Schedules, Billings & Contracts

Project Management from Proposal to Project Submittal Phase

Ensure Services Meet Company Quality Standards & Client Specifications

Plan & Implement Processes & Procedures to Maximize Operating Efficiency

Prepare Plats, Field Notes & Control Drawings, If Necessary

Establish Work Plans & Staffing Requirements for Multiple Projects

Participate in Business Development Opportunities & Maintain Client Relationships

Effectively Manage Sub-Consultants & Other Project Relationships

Provide Support to Other Operational Units, As Needed

Manage & Report Financial Status for Projects

Represent Company Interests While in Meetings and at External Industry Events

Perform All Tasks Assigned to Accomplish Companys Strategic Goals

Requirements

Surveyor-in-Training Certification 3+ Years of Industry Related Work Experience in a Professional or Management Capacity Associates/Bachelors Degree in Related Discipline/and or Equivalent Experience Demonstrated Experience in Project/Phase Management for Both Mid to Large Scale Projects Strong Proficiency of Software Such as AutoCAD, Carlson C&G, Microstation, Trimble Business Center, Microsoft Office Suite Professional Written & Verbal Communication Skills *Including the Ability to Clearly Define Assignments/Deliverables to Team Members *Including the Ability to Proactively Request Supporting Information and/or Documentation From Clients Ability to Oversee, Mentor & Motivate Project Teams Ability to Identify & Troubleshoot Issues & Problem Solve Accordingly Drive to Meet or Exceed Aggressive Deadlines While Maintaining Teamwork & Collaboration with Clients, Team Members & Sub-Consultants
