As a Crew Chief at Hamilton, you will work on diverse projects within the surveying industry. You will work in a flexible and active work environment both out in the field and in the office. Hamilton is looking for Crew Chiefs that are interested in being subject matter experts in residential, commercial, or industrial land development. Our diverse project scopes allow you to cross-market your skill sets while working with other professionals such as: environmental, construction/excavation and regulatory teams across the business.
Responsibilities
Drives to and from sites daily.Set up, adjust, and operate survey equipment including - level, robotic total station, data collector and GPS equipment.Proficient in Construction Staking.Reviewing survey field calculations.Locating or establishing vertical and horizontal control.Utilizing various surveying equipment.Prepare field notes.Responsible to maintain work-issued vehicle, and survey equipment.Follow Hamilton's safety protocols.Work independently as a one-man crew, when needed.Ability to read and interpret engineering/construction plans.Effectively communicate with contractors, inspectors and team leads in high-pressure environments.Misc. Requirements
High School Diploma or Technical degreeFive (5) plus years of experience in Construction Staking, Topo, & ALTAValid driver's licenseBasic knowledge/skills with various data collecting software and general computer knowledgePhysical capabilities: Lift 50 lbs.; driving lath with small sledge; on feet 4-5 hrs. at a time; work in direct sunlightBENEFITS
