This position is for a full-time Crew Chief working out of our offices in Saginaw, St. Johns, East Lansing, Byron Center, Bingham Farms, Standish, and/or Manistee, or our Georgia location. The Crew Chief will plan and evaluate field survey projects, manage survey teams, and handle complex surveying tasks including design surveys and construction staking.

Typical Responsibilities:

• Participate in pre-survey planning meetings
• Gather field data using conventional and GNSS equipment
• Operate survey instruments to measure distances, elevations, and angles
• Prepare field notes and drawings, maintain data records
• Perform various survey activities including construction layout, mapping, and utility inventories
• Support LiDAR, UAV, and bathymetric projects across Michigan and the U.S.
• Perform complex calculations and data analysis for accuracy
• Manage company vehicle and survey equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and calibration

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or associate degree in surveying with co-op experience, or 4+ years as an independent crew chief
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team
• Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time
• Ability to perform physically demanding work in all weather conditions
