Surgery - General Nurse Practitioner - AdventHealth West FL Division : Job Details

The role you ll contribute:

The Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner provides medical treatment under the supervision of the physicians for AdventHealth Medical Group. Conducts patient examinations and follow-ups, provides treatment plans, and counsels patients. May, in some cases, prescribe medication. This medical care will be provided within the framework of the hospital s medical staff department s policies and procedures. Works with complex surgical patients both pre- and post-operatively. Assists in major surgical procedures and performs minor procedures.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide services similar to those of a physician.
• Examine patients, take medical histories, maintain patient records, identify health risk factors, prescribe medications, make referrals and otherwise treat health conditions.
• Sees patients both in the hospital setting and practice setting.
• Provides direct care with licensing credentials under the auspices of supervising MD.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• MSN (Master s of Nursing)

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

• Licensure as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner in the State of Florida.
• Advanced Registered Nurse Certification
• Continuing education required to maintain licensure
