Position Overview

Lead employees to ensure customer satisfaction by moving all shipments on time and damage free.

Essential Functions

  • Lead, manage, educate, and develop company employees focusing on retention and growth.
  • Supervise and direct employee work (including pre-shifts) with a focus on quality, customer deliverables, and safety, identifying and overseeing improvements.
  • Actively monitor, record, and educate employees regarding unsafe acts/conditions, correcting immediately using corrective actions as needed. Provide feedback and follow-up with all impacted employees.
  • Plan daily manpower needs and set schedules to ensure timely and damage-free delivery and pickup of freight.
  • Communicate job assignments clearly and coordinate with all employees.
  • Monitor service freight and ensure compliance with cut times.
  • Analyze and address opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiencies while maintaining safety standards.
  • Assist customers with rate quotes, claim information, and setting appointments.
  • Monitor performance data and gather information for reporting.
  • Build positive relationships with all business partners to meet service standards.
  • Identify freight with incorrect weight and classification.
  • Ensure all OS&D (Overages, Shortages, Damages) is identified and processed properly.

    • Perform Administrative Functions As Required

    Comply with all applicable laws/regulations and company policies.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Ability to travel as needed.
    • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Knowledge of LTL Industry, DOT Rules, OSHA Laws, Hazardous Materials Regulations, NMFC, Tariff Rules, and company policies (preferred).
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Organizational skills and multi-tasking ability.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Internet.

    Working Conditions

    • Dock environment with exposure to weather, fumes, dust, noise.
    • Hours may vary based on operational needs.
    • Fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment with frequent contact with personnel.
