Position Overview

Lead employees to ensure customer satisfaction by moving all shipments on time and damage-free.

Essential Functions
  • Lead, manage, educate, and develop company employees focusing on retention and growth.
  • Supervise and direct employee work, including pre-shifts, with a focus on quality, customer deliverables, and safety performance, identifying and overseeing improvements.
  • Actively monitor, record, and educate employees regarding unsafe acts/conditions, correcting immediately using corrective actions as needed. Provide feedback and follow-up with all impacted employees.
  • Plan daily manpower needs and set schedules to ensure timely and damage-free delivery and pickup of freight.
  • Communicate job assignments clearly and concisely, coordinating with all employees.
  • Monitor service freight and ensure compliance with cut times.
  • Analyze and address opportunities to cut costs and improve efficiencies while maintaining safety standards.
  • Assist customers with rate quotes, claim information, and setting appointments.
  • Monitor performance data and gather information for reporting.
  • Build relationships and maintain positive communication with all business partners to meet service standards.
  • Identify freight with incorrect weight and classification.
  • Ensure all OS&D (Overages, Shortages, and Damages) are identified and processed properly.
  • Perform Administrative Functions As Required

    Comply with all applicable laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.

    Qualifications
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Ability to travel as needed.
    • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Thorough knowledge of LTL Industry, DOT Rules, OSHA Laws, Hazardous Materials Regulations, NMFC, Tariff Rules, and company policies (preferred).
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Good organizational skills and multi-tasking ability.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Internet.
    Working Conditions
    • Dock environment with exposure to weather, fumes, dust, and noise.
    • Variable hours based on operational needs.
    • Frequent contact with service center personnel in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented setting.
