ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION: Established in 1970, Boley Centers, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization serving individual with mental disabilities, individuals and families who are homeless, Veterans and the youth in Pinellas County. Boley Centers Inc., a nationally recognized and accredited behavioral health care agency, has an opening for a full-time Support Specialist. JOB SUMMARY: The Support Specialist is a clinical member of the Florida Assertive Community Team (FACT) with some administrative and clerical responsibilities including coordinating referrals, admissions, housing and planning group activities. Because FACT operates a 24/7 program, the Support Specialist may be required to work outside of normal business hours to include weekends, holidays and on-call. RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Coordinate referrals and admissions processes and maintain information in the FACT database, including all initial assessments and treatment plans.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of client population, community resources, linkage procedures, treatment modalities and relevant regulations.
  • Coordinate the housing/rental subsidy system as well as check requests with FACT Director and Accounting Department.
  • Act as shift manager, when needed, in coordination with other FACT members
  • Coordinate and provide group activities and services for the clients of the FACT program.
  • Operate own or agency vehicle to transport clients for services and, on occasion, provide services to clients in the community.
  • Participate in the on-call, evening and shift management responsibilities of the team and be available for additional shifts and support when needed and available.
  • Serve on the FACT Advisory Board and maintain necessary records and minutes.
  • Maintain productivity levels and write/maintain required records in a time frame defined by the Director.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in human services or related field required with a minimum of one year of experience working with the severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI) population. Or, an Associate's degree in human services or related field with a minimum of 3 years of experience working with the SPMI population. Education must be from an accredited school, college or university.
  • Must be able to pass a Level II background check.
  • Valid Florida driver's license, own transportation vehicle and insurance required.
  • Knowledge of mental illness and symptoms, mental health system and supports and community social services systems, preferred.
