POSITION SUMMARY:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Audiologist.

Position Summary:The Senior Audiologist is responsible for providing full spectrum, diagnostic audiology testing to all patient referrals. The Senior Audiologist should also be responsible for dispensing and fitting for hearing aid devices.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Assess patient hearing:administer and interpret behavioral and electrophysiological measures including but not limited to air and bone conduction, speech reception and discrimination tests,otoacoustic emissions,immitance testing, ABR.
  • Evaluate, fit, and dispense amplification devises; provide counseling and training regarding use of such devices.
  • Document all information in patient chart and prepare written reports.
  • Communicate all findings to referring physician or other professionals related to the care of the patient.
  • Ensure patient follow-up for services, as needed.
  • Perform other related audiology duties, as required.
  • Complete and follow all department and medical center policies and requirements.
  • Demonstrate ability to perform all duties of the Staff Audiologist independently and participate actively in clinical trials, when appropriate.
  • Provide staff audiologist, student and/or CFY supervision and mentoring.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
  • Work as a functional member of the Cochlear Implant Audiology Team and Department. Attend staff meetings asrequested.Participate inappropriate conferences and presentations.
  • Maintain professional demeanor at all times with physicians, co-workers and patients.
  • Responsible for any other duties as stipulated by an Executive Leadership member of the Department, including but not limited to the Department Chairman or the Department Administrator.
  • Ensure service excellence by becoming familiar with the seven principles of behavior and putting them into practice in carrying out job responsibilities.
  • HIPAA Conform to all applicable HIPAA compliance and safety guidelines.
  • Manage Cochlear Implant patient audiological, diagnostic and cochlear implant programming and evaluation.
  • Identify and escalate, when necessary, equipment performance issues, when patterns areidentified through patient population.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

To qualify you must have a Minimum Qualifications:Doctoral degree from an accredited college or university required. Three-five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.NY State Audiology License, required. NY State Hearing Aid Dispensing License, preferred.Ability to meet deadlines. Strong organizational skills. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to work independently and takes initiative to assist in improving overall office operations. Strong interpersonal skillsComputer experience with Word, Excel, Power Point, and outlook e-mail..

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $73,770.80 - $97,850.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
