Join us!The Supply Planner is responsible for end-to-end planning and management for their assigned suppliers of the business and will provide a constrained production plan and deployment recommendations using appropriate planning tools in support of the S&OP process. Activities that are key to this role are service performance management, managing inventory levels, and providing thorough purchase plans to suppliers to ensure they're ready to support our inventory needs. These activities require an individual with strong analytical skills, along with the ability to influence others and to be supportive of cross-functional partners. This position reports to the Supply Planning Manager.In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to:Develop a monthly Supply Plan based on our projected purchases to drive availability of products to distributors.Work closely with Procurement and directly with our major suppliers to ensure they can meet our purchase plans without shortage.Analyze supply and demand imbalances and facilitate resolution throughout the supply chain.Monitor and report on supplier performance KPIs and drive improvement activities to maintain different service levels.Incorporate inventory planning for highly seasonal and promoted products in overall supply plan and ensure that distributor inventory settings are updated accordingly.Create guidelines for buying team to convert purchase requisitions to purchase orders for assigned suppliers for replenishment of fulfillment centers.Allocate constrained parts in close coordination with the NAC allocation team.Proactively re-balance excess inventory between the fulfillment centers to ensure sufficient supply and effective inventory utilization.Assist in quantifying and defining scope for capacity, resource, logistics, and supply chain planning.Conduct root cause corrective actions in supply plans gaps to implement solutions to mitigate reoccurrence.Track, monitor and expedite critical material to minimize impact of stock gaps.Act as super user of planning tools.Drive optimization in our supply planning and stock levels through SAP Integrated Business Planning improvements.Other SC planning duties as assigned.Basic QualificationsMinimum of 3-5 years working experience, including a role of similar responsibility/scale, in supply chain, operations, or a related field.BA/BS degree in a supply chain, logistics, business, technical, or equivalent disciplineStrong internal-customer orientation and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex SCM problems with the due sense of urgency.Experience in end-to-end supply chain management involving distribution, inventory management, and project managementStrong quantitative skills and ability to analyze Supply Chain Management (SCM) problems to develop and implement solutions.Passion to drive continuous improvement through identification of root-cause solutions to key business problems.Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite products.Preferred QualificationsSAP IBP experienceAPICS certificationGreen Belt CertificationFamiliarity with the tools, methodologies, and disciplines of a lean six sigma environmentKnowledge of how forecasting drives Master Production Scheduling (MPS), Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Finite Scheduling and Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP)Prior experience in a high volume, fast paced, customer-focused supply chain.Note: We do not accept resumes from headhunters, placement agencies, or other suppliers that have not signed a formal agreement with us.Interstate Batteries provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, marital status, amnesty, or status as a covered veteran in accordance with applicable federal, state and local laws.
